The Sock Monster!

Seriously, where do all those odd socks go to?  I've long suspected that we have a "sock monster", who hides in our laundry basket and gobbles them all up at his leisure.  Just recently, while we were away in Belfast, my lovely mum decided to dig into the deepest recesses our our laundry basket and wash through it all for me!  Guess what she found?  Yes - lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of socks!  Amy was the lucky lady who was chosen to sort through them and pair them all up!  Ha!

I hate matching socks up!!!! I honestly have a full size laundry basket full of socks. And then I match them every so often (ha-usually every couple montths) I'm horrible about it! :(

Do you mesh sock bags or "delicates" bags there? My mom always made us put our socks in the sock bag and you put the entire bag in the wash cycle. Worked for her but I could never make it work for me...socks just never ended up in the sock bag :/

Oh the invisable sock monster!

Ha ha, like this post. And do you know something? The monster does NOT live in the bathroom as I once thought! It lives in the bedrooms. When I come to deep clean the bedrooms I not only find socks but all sorts of other 'stolen' treasures!
Have been browsing and I like your blog. Pop over to mine some time and try a new Spanish or Catalonian recipe!
Have a blessed day.

The sock monster visits us too. In fact so bad we no longer match up socks. I try to stick to white socks for the boys and we dig through our huge laundry bag when we need a pair. Works best in this season.

LOL! I was thinking of you when I was matching socks the other day :). Some unnamed children had folded laundry the day before and left the socks un-done at the bottom of the basket! I am still hoping someday we will have a child that likes to match socks :). A couple years ago we went to a very little basket on top of the washer and that is all that is allowed to go unmatched! YES! Washers do eat socks and sometimes the dryer does too.
