Meet Meg's "Kids"

Meet Meg's "Kids"!

For months now, Miss Meg has had an increasing pile of "kids" beside her pillow.  The pile shown in these pictures is *nothing* compared to some days, when it can be twice or three times as big!  While rather an eclectic mix of offspring (a turtle, a few dinosaurs, a Friesian bull and a aeroplane for example), Meg is the perfect doting mother and loves them all!  A couple of times per day, she'll whisk away to the bedroom to play with them, talk to them...etc.  When running errands she often tells me: "I need to go home, my kids are missing me".  Sweet!  We have even caught her scrubbing a few dirty dinosaur kids with her own toothbrush!  This girl is a hoot and keeps us in stitches with her exuberant personality and funny sayings and doings.

Dum-Dum Dee-Dum!

Meg The "Bride"

A couple of weeks ago, Meg and I dressed up as "brides". It was so much fun!  I'll admit I was a little nervous to try on my dress, as I figured that it probably wouldn't fit me anymore...but, it DID!  I was more than a little pleased - especially concering that I've had three more children since then! I get that my stripy shirt looks *very* silly underneath, but my dress isn't really what I'd be comfortable wearing now and so thought it was best worn this way! :)  It was so sweet to see Meg enjoying dressing up; I used to do the very same thing when I was a little girl.  I'd pop my mothers underskirts/slips over my clothes, pop one on my head as a "veil" and off I'd go!

Okay, so I just realized that I have not posted in an awfully long time! Fear not, I have not fallen off the face of the earth, but have just been super busy! I know, I know, I ALWAYS say that, right?!?? In the evening once the kids are in bed, chores done (hahahaha!) and I actually have some quiet time, I have been either busy writing out letters/cards/crafting/extra Bible reading or listening to sermons with my hubby. I am working on a few posts, and in particular, I am working on Abigail's birth story, which I figured was about due, now that our little miss is EIGHT months old! Thanks to "Diana J" who gave me a push on that one. ;)

So, until then I thought you might like a cute baby picture
...because, who doesn't love cute baby pictures? :)

Dylan's 7th Birthday ~ Yee-Haw!!!

Just a couple of weeks ago, on the 31st October, Dylan turned SEVEN years old!  Where has the time gone?  It still seems like just yesterday that he was born.  This year, we went with a "cowboy" themed birthday and it was a hit!  Yee-haw!!!

A Gift From Nanny & Grandad

For the afternoon, we ventured into town for a yummy lunch at the Bagel Factory.  We all enjoyed a delicious lunch, complete with "special" drinks that Daddy treated to each other the three older kiddos.  They each got to choose a flavoured frappe, with lots of squirty cream and other delicious goodies.  What a kind Daddy he is!  Afterward, we decided to go and visit my mother-in-law, so she could spend some time with Dylan on his birthday.  We had a lovely time visiting with Granny and some aunts and cousins.

For the birthday dinner, we ate a simple lunch of: buffalo wings, salad and a few other side dishes.  It was tasty and simple, and the clean up wasn't so bad.  For the rest of the night we just spent time together, having fun and making memories; a few wagon rides for the little sisters, nerf gun wars, playmobil...etc.  All in all, we had a GREAT time helping Dylan to celebrate his special day!
