40 Weeks ~ "Guess The Weight" Voting!

Happy due date to me, happy due date to me...!  Yes, today is our official due date, buuuuuuut there is no sign of Abigail arriving just yet.  The kids and I drove to see our midwife today, and all is looking great.

As you can tell from the above picture, I do have somewhat more oedema/swelling than I've ever experienced in my other pregnancies, though my midwife is not concerned, especially since my blood pressure is normal.  It just means that, for now, I look quite a bit "chunkier" in the face, hands, ankles...well, everywhere really!!

While I might feel as big as a cruise-liner, in actual fact, our midwife has stated numerous times that she think Abigail will be a "normal" sized baby.  Obviously predicting baby weights is not an exact science,  but I am intrigued to see what she will weigh, given that our other children weighed as follows, at birth:

Amy: 8lb 9oz (1 day early)
Dylan: 10lb 5oz (10 days late)
Meg: 10lb 5oz (due date)

So, just for a bit of fun during these last days, cast your votes in the comments section below, on what weight you think Abigail will be, when she is finally born!  :)

Still Here - Three Days To Go!

First of all, my apologies that there are NO pictures to accompany this post!  :(  My camera has sat idle on my bedside locker for a loooooooooong time!  I have since brought it downstairs, so there will be a greater chance of me remembering to use it!

We have been SUPER busy lately, with lots of appointments, excursions, trips, extra chores...etc.   I have been extremely blessed in the fact that, as previously reported, I have had very high energy throughout this pregnancy, so that has helped enormously!  However, in the last two weeks, I have succumbed the typical third trimester fatigue, aches and pains, and am now needing to nap most days.

We had a great time lately, when we attended to first Above Rubies Family Conference, here in the Republic of Ireland.  It was neat to get to meet Nancy Campbell - she is a very tall lady for sure!  Meg was a perfect angel all day, which involved her sitting through the equivalent of three church services, almost back-to-back.  Even though we do not agree with the Campbell's in all areas of doctrine, we all had a nice time and were much encouraged in the raising and educating of our children.

School is still in full swing, and will continue to be so, until the BIG day, after which we will take a nice break.  The kids are all ready for a break (mama too!); especially considering that our last break was at Christmas time.  Some of the kids are so excited for our impending arrival, that they are having a very tough time remaining focused on their school work and so school is taking somewhat longer to complete each day!

We had a false alarm just two weeks ago, with me having false labour contractions coming every 7 minutes or so, for many hours.  They woke me at night, continued even when I was up and about and felt very different to the usual Braxton Hicks contractions I usually have a lot of.  However, over the next few days they fizzled out, and I'm now only experiencing the usual BH contractions.  Our midwife is super happy with both mine and  Abigail's health!  This is the first pregnancy that I have had high energy, no water infection, no yeast infection, only minimal heartburn and normal iron levels (with no additional supplements needed)!!!  God is good!!!

There is so much more family news that I wanted to share, plus account the many BLESSINGS that have come our way recently.  However, I have a MOUNTAIN of laundry waiting to be folded, so I must bring this post to an early close, and hope to get time to post again in the next few days.

Have A Wonderful Weekend In The LORD!

Dylan's Baptism!

Last Sunday, a VERY excited Dylan was baptized!!!  He had been waiting to be baptized for a looooong time (since September 2012), and so, he was just delighted when the day finally arrived.  Daddy accompanied Dylan into the water, while a teary-eyed mama, and the rest of our family looked on from the side.  We didn't get many good pictures (these ones were taken on the church camera), as the heat from the pool kept fogging up my lens!

Dylan has such a great desire to follow the Lord, and obey what he reads in the Bible.  He is a very spiritually mature young boy and we were just delighted for him!

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John,
to be baptized of him.  But John forbad him, saying,
I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now:
for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.
Then he suffered him.  And Jesus, when he was baptized,
went up straightway out of the water: and, lo,
the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the
Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
And lo a voice from heaven, saying,
This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Fortnightly Fotos

Dylan's Tap-A-Shape Creation

My poor camera has been sadly neglected lately.  I have missed so many wonderful photo opportunities!  My only excuse is that it is hard to remember my own name, during these last few weeks of pregnancy!   Anyway, here are a few pictures that I *did* manage to take over the last fortnight...

Funny Kid'isms

Dylan Prepares The Coal/Wood For The Fires Most Nights...
He Often Looks Like This When He Is Finished!

Me:  "Hmmm, what hymn shall we sing?"

Dylan:  "Oh, I know, I know!  I want to sing the one about "Is your heart speckled".

I was initially confused, but realised what he meant, as he hummed a few bars ...

Me:  "Oh, do you mean "Is your GARMENT, SPOTLESS, are you white as snow?  Are you washed in the blood of the lamb?"

Dylan: "Yes, that's it!"

Meg:  "Poopys are yacky, wee-wees make me happy!"

We were enjoying some kefir ice-cream after dinner, one evening...

Meg: "My baby Abigail (the imaginary one, in her own tummy) LOVES ice-cream".

Me: "Oh, then it's a good thing that you are so unselfish and don't mind eating it!"

Meg: "Baby Abigail wriggles and wriggles, and hurts me for ice-cream!"

Typical Meg!

Meet "Buddy"!

Meet Buddy!

Amy has been asking for a small, furry house pet for some time.  She had hoped to get one for Christmas, but my husband was not keen on the idea at all.  Needless to say, the only furry things she received for Christmas, were woolly sweaters and scarves!

Just a few weeks ago, we were visiting with good friends of ours, when Amy asked if she could pet their rabbit.  Their rabbit is so tiny and cute!  Amy managed to talk my husband into holding it for a little while too.  My husband thought our friends rabbit was really nice and so once we were home, she began up her campaign once again!  Surprisingly, he agreed to her getting a house rabbit!!!

Just a couple of days later, we took the whole family to a local pet store and Amy picked out "Buddy".  We originally wanted a "Netherlands Dwarf" rabbit, however Buddy is not a full dwarf, but rather a dwarf cross.  The store had lots of lion-head rabbits, but we agreed that taking care of all that fur might be taking on too much.  So Buddy rode home on Amy's lap, with the other two kids doting on him all the way too.

Buddy now lives in our sitting room and is seemingly enjoying being part of the family.  Our dog has gotten used to him now...but we still think that he would like to make Buddy his next meal, if he got half the chance!  So far, we've noticed that Buddy loves to hop about the Playmobil that is often scattered about the sitting room floor, be petted, eat hay, drink lots of water and poop!  In regards to that last one: Amy has thankfully managed to (mostly) house-train him, so that he doesn't do it *everywhere* when he is out of his cage for his daily exercise.  Phew!
