Science Lesson ~ Solar Eclipse

Getting The First Few Glimpses Whilst Making Coffee :)

This morning, we got to view our first ever solar eclipse as a family.  It was so neat!  Dylan was especially interested, as he is learning about the sun and it's relationship to the earth, in his science book at the moment.  My dad kindly loaned us his welding helmets, so that we could look at the sun without injuring our eyes.  It was SO amazing! I *love* homeschooling so much; while practically every other kid had been dropped off at school already, we got to enjoy and hands-on science lesson, in between snuggling in bed and enjoying a hot cup of coffee.  Plus, Amy had already brought me several slices of hot-buttered olive bread!  Doesn't get any better than that!

We LOVE Science!

This Is The View We Had While Wearing Our Helmets.
We Could See The Eclipse Perfectly With Them On,
But The Camera Just Couldn't Capture It.

Amy Waited For It To Get Cloudy,
And Managed To Get Some Good Shots

Amazing!

"When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars,
which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him?
and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels,
and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands;
thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea,
 and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea,
 and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!"
