Our Trip To Athlone

Settling In

Recently, our family took a trip to Athlone, Co. Westmeath, so that we could enjoy a small holiday, as well as attend the very first "Irish Christian Home Educators" conference.  We had a lovely time and felt well rested when we returned home again.  I'll make no mention of the HUGE pile of laundry we brought back with us!

Cooking In The Teeny Kitchen Was A Big Change For Me!

We stayed in a small log cabin, which was simple and cosy.  The kids LOVED it, though they were expecting it to be how they had imagined "Old Man Paddler's cabin" from the Sugar Creek Gang books to be. :)  We were located right on the side of Lough Ree, and could see the water right from the door of the cabin.  It was lovely!
